Chinese Lunar New Year’s Festivities Return!

After being put on hold for two years, the San Francisco Chinese Lunar New Year Parade and Street Fair return once again. The event brings lion dancers, firecrackers, and those bright red envelopes filled with money along with a glimmer of hope. The San Francisco Chinatown area, like much of the country, has suffered economic losses due to the global pandemic and at the same time has to deal with rising crime in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Many of those aspects were not apparent considering most of those attending were ecstatic that the parade and street fair had returned.
